    I agree with you, Rex.

Personally, I wished Nintendo would have made a $200 no-frills console. At that price, they could sell the console with just a few good first party games. Zelda, Mario, Smash, F-Zero, Metroid, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Virtual Console, $200, done. No begging third-parties to join in; let them join later once the thing sells…[Read more]

I think the Switch is a great design. It’s going to / has pissed off a lot of the pixel counters, but I think it’s a given at this point that Nintendo is no longer in the power race. Their strength is in their software and in portable gaming at this time, and a console that can deliver those in addition to consoleish stuff is very appealing to me.…[Read more]

I can’t recall which game was the last old game I’ve played. I played 75 minutes of BioShock 2 Remastered according to Steam, so probably about an hour of it. I can’t say anything feels dated about it; although if I were playing the original BioShock I would probably complain that each mouse button isn’t tied to its own attack.

    That said, game…[Read more]

I might suggest a 1060 or – if you are feeling “spendy” (for a more casual PC gamer) even a 1070 – this is because given your requirements a card like that will last you a long long time. The 1050TI is remarkable for the amount of power it needs, though, and I agree it’s a good buy if you don’t want to touch the PSU. Still, I’ve never been happy…[Read more]

I’ve been working my way through Tomb Raider (2013). Finally.

I was VERY turned off, by the beginning sequences and their excessing QTE and cinematic structure. I thought I was in for Uncharted 0.5. But it opened up into a pretty great game! I still wish it was “classic” TR design, but I get it. I get why they changed, and I think they did a…[Read more]

So yeah, if you’ve played an older game recently, this applies to you the most. The last game you played: did it age well at all? Or is it an outdated piece of media compared to what we see today? I don’t really count because the last game I played was Bloodborne, and that game is only a year old, so I’d say it’s a bit too soon. However, I still…[Read more]

    Hey Rob,

I know you have been working on this site for a while and I feel bad not signing up for it earlier, but damn it looks good man :)

My name is Brian, and I play way too many games.

I feel like, in this age of video streaming, it’s become a necessity to try to add more content for the site to gain viewers and followers. Having a place where we can post video reviews, random bits of content, and even a place where we can upload eventual podcasts will keep things alive when activity on the main site becomes a bit slow (in fact,…[Read more]

That’s good news, I’ll be keeping an eye out for it then. Probably going to pick it up on Black Friday, even if it isn’t on sale. Targeted that day for spending anyway since my budget is usually unlimited. :x

If you don’t want to change the power supply, the GTX 1050 Ti is the way to go.

You picked the perfect time to upgrade. The 1050 Ti is right around the corner (leaks suggest it’s launching today) and it’ll be the first 14nm graphics card from Nvidia. My nephew decided to upgrade in June right before AMD and Nvidia switched to their faster,…[Read more]

Forgot to add the specs when I got home.

    Model: ASUSTek CM6850
    CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 @ 3.40GHz(8 CPUs, ~3.4GHz
    Memory: 8192MB RAM
    DX version: 12

Current GFX Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520, Integrated, 6086MB total memory

Technically this would appear to be just below the minimum specs for Civ VI. I might be able to run the game, but even if I…[Read more]

I recommend the Nvidia GTX 1050Ti ($140) or the Radeon RX 480 ($250). The GTX will be able to play new PC games at medium to high settings at 60fps. The RX will be able to play new games on high settings at solid 60fps, plus it should be able to handle first generation VR games should you ever buy into that.

The GTX 1050 Ti is also really power…[Read more]

Title pretty much says it all. I’m a huge fan of Civilization, and of course with Civ VI coming out it’s time to get back into that game. I’ve already obtained a copy of the 25th anniversary edition, but I’m fairly sure my gfx card is simply too weak to run the game smoothly at minimum specs.

Truth is I am not a PC gamer, I game on my PC, but I…[Read more]

I want to point out the little nubbin right there and on the other side. During multiple shots, people have their hands positioned to press that button when separating the Joy-Cons from the tablet.

Another important thing to point out, which I missed in my article, was this following shot:

In the background, you’ll see a sign that reads,…[Read more]
