I think the announcement that all PS4’s would get HDR kind of negated any need for the PS4 Pro to me. I don’t think the Pro is enough of an upgrade to justify buying the system when I don’t even have a 4k TV yet. I think all Sony has done is put the focus on 4k gaming, and console gamers will buy the TV this year and wait to see how the two 4k…[Read more]

Its essentially a straightforward upgrade, which is a good thing. Plus all PS4 consoles are getting an HDR update, so that’s a great thing. All the PS4 models compliment each other, and that’s a good thing, which is something Microsoft needs to work on, since they just outmoded the original Xbox One already with the Slim being a bit more powerful.

Although I can’t recall specifics, there were some shots of some games running on the Pro in 1080p compared to how they ran on the standard PS4; and they got additional upgrades like more LOD (level of detail) and additional vegetation. But they didn’t compare that same shot to the game running on the Pro in 4K…
