Every PS4, even the old ones, will support HDR through a firmware update. That’s huge.

It isn’t odd at all. If someone plays a PS4 Neo (now “Pro”) on a regular 1080p HDTV, then developers must make their games able to run at lower resolutions with increased graphical settings elsewhere. A game that runs 4K30 would have a setting to run at 1080p with higher framerates or more anti-aliasing.

Maybe THAT specific thing won’t happen though. Remember, consoles are all about convenience right out of the box. Putting PC style settings would defeat the purpose and ensure that games aren’t developed to a standard that’s less glitchy than usual. Just the way I see things. Consoles set a minimum benchmark for overall performance, IMHO.

I sure do hope so. I love how PC games let you change settings to make them run better on your specific PC, and I’d love it if making games for multiple builds of the same platform (PS4/Neo, XBO/Scorpio) eased developers into the idea of letting players manipulate the graphics to their liking.

I almost joined the Air Force once, mostly because I was a little delinquent. They wouldn’t take me though, medical reasons, otherwise I was in line to skip boot camp and go straight into the digital frontlines(this was 1998/99). I’m glad I got past that, but sometimes I miss those days.

You must be one of the lucky few, most of us aren’t able to get on to play BF1. I’ll probably miss out on making it to lvl 15 now because of this, wont be surprised to get halfway through 14 at the time the Beta ends.

I agree that it isn’t extremely news worthy.

There’s a lot of small news bits around the world that only deserve small news bits. Perhaps you could have a square on the front page dedicated to small news that fit within 128 characters or so. Stuff that doesn’t need a whole article.
