Fuck you they said, the game will now release on December 6 in the US, December 7 in Europe, and December 9 in the UK and Ireland.

The horse said (President of SCE Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida):

“A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game,” writes Yoshida, “but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development.

“To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues.”

“Fumito Ueda, gen DESIGN and JAPAN Studio have a wonderful vision for The Last Guardian’s touching, emotional journey of friendship and trust, and we want to deliver the most polished experience possible for our fans who have supported us for so long.”

Im still gonna get the game. It's only another month, not another year. What's the harm there?

The cynic in me wants to blame the delay on trying to polish up the new graphical advances in the PS4 Pro upgrade. Like, they didn't plan on having to add stuff for the Pro back when the new release date was announced in June. But let's be honest: it was probably just poor planning again.

A few weeks before December, TLG will be delayed to 2017.

At this point I've lost all hype for this game, I'll buy it when the price drops to $10 in a few months

For the most part, I agree. There was a time when I would have bought the game no-questions-asked. Now I'll only buy it if either it scores a 80% or better from reviewers I trust. ACTUALLY, hold on, no… I'm going to have to buy it because I want to review it myself.
