• It’s an ensemble movie, but I’ll be honest with you: I bought the movie ticket just for Harley Quinn.

You guys don’t know… Harley Quinn and I go way back. I grew up on Batman The Animated Series and the show coincided perfectly with my puberty. She was my first sex symbol. My first girlfriend was manic, obsessive and clingy, and I found…[Read more]

  • I’m going for it. I think at a per-project pay structure folks can help me out as they see fit. I’m a bit unclear how it works in that regard – where does one project end on Patreon and how do I launch a new one? Not sure… will have to figure it out

OMG I haven’t played Journey yet. I have it on PS4 and I’m itching to play it. I’ve avoided all reviews and videos ever since I heard how good it was.

Similarly, I stopped playing Undertale about 2 hours in once my schedule got f***ed, only because I wanted to play it all on a single day. I want to set aside a whole day and dedicated it to U…[Read more]

I think I missed the stream.

Yeah, I’ve noticed slowdown as well, but that type of thing is normal from time to time when there aren’t yet enough people for posting to average out.

I essentially work two jobs, and I’m usually on here during work in one of my jobs. I post when I can but I just can’t very often. Reviews are even tougher for me…[Read more]

  • Congrats on the job, hope it pays well.

I’ve noticed the slow down on the site, figured people just got busy, it’s natural. I’ve been intending on posting something, anything, the past week or so, but all of my effort has been going into development so I just sit there with the editor open thinking to myself “I don’t want to do this”. I’ve got…[Read more]

  • So, things have been rather busy for me, and I wanted to let people know.

    – Got a new job, and I start training Saturday. So posting will slow down a bit.

    – Life is Strange review will likely come around Monday. Gotta finish Ep. 5 first.

    – second livestream of Batman Arkham Knight will occur at 10AM Eastern, and will last much longer this time.

  • The ajax for the platform page is now updated to display the coverbox for all the games attached to the system. Most games do not have a cover box attached though, so we have to work on updating the database. Not feeling well so I’m going to cut my work on the site short tonight and go relax, maybe do some data entry on the box art from home.

  • I can't wait for the update – it's cool just to get to experience it. I geeked out big time when I got to play arguably one of the first video games on the only working PDP-1 last spring. But I […]

  • Just a little update on what I’m working on.

My designer is going to go through the new forum individual thread display with me and clean things up a bit real soon.
Another designer is going to help out with some better emblems to replace the current temp emblems.
Platform page has been updated to now include the long awaited ajax loader…[Read more]

  • Good luck with Kane & Lynch 2. Calling it hot garbage would be an understatement… it’s more like a smoldering dumpster fire.

  • Nintendo’s 3DS fought the good fight. It fought long and hard but it seems like the war is lost. The war to exist in a world where everyone has a phone.

One of the best things about handhelds like the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, PSP, DS and 3DS was the cost of developing games on them. Small studios could thrive on small games because consumers w…[Read more]

  • That reminds me, I still need to beat K&L: Dog Days. I enjoyed Kane & Lynch both times, the first game could have been a classic, but you could tell the game was released in an unfinished state. Half the missions were amazing, the other half were a buggy mess that needed another 6 months of dev.

  • Batman Forever on the SNES. I don’t love it (that is to say I wouldn’t play it again), but I have real good memories of it. Sometimes, even bad games are fun so long as you get to play it with someone else. That’s a game that a friend of mine and I decided to beat from start to finish and we got pretty good at this broken mess of a game that we…[Read more]

  • I’d have to go with Red Faction: Armageddon. A lot dismissed the game because it was linear rather than open world like Guerilla. But I found the game to be more polished than the others, that it had a better story, and was very well paced. The best part though, Mr Toots! A hidden weapon. It was a tiny unicorn that would snuggle up to the main guy…[Read more]

  • So in a reverse of my previous post, which games do you like that have been mostly dismissed either by peers or critics? Final Fantasy 13 immediately comes to my mind. Yes, it’s linear, has an awkward plot, and only opens up halfway through, but I actually enjoyed the combat, the lore, and the characters. I always end up replaying it cuz I…[Read more]

  • When I created gamelust, I knew I wanted to have a scoring system that creators could look to as a competitive game amongst peers. Lacking any real direction on this I simply used the name from the tutorial I used to figure out how to add custom profile fields to the user profile. And thus Awesome Points came to be. But I always knew this was not…[Read more]

  • I’d like to say that I have this great plan and this is how this is going to work out, but the truth is I have no idea how this will work. A lot of these things are simply unpredictable. While the my Patreon has a $400+ tier, I don’t think that I will ever hit that tier in 2017, or maybe even 2018. As I’ve said before, I’m not building this site…[Read more]
