When I went to post this I decided to inquire with someone I had met on reddit who has been very helpful towards people who want to become games journalists. I wanted to know what he thought of the topic, and after some discussion with him over the past 12 hours, I have decided that if I were to publish this article, I would be no better than the…[Read more]

It’s definitely not a good place to be in, they have an opportunity to remind everyone why they’re so beloved, but don’t seem poised to take advantage of it. I will say I am not worried that they will pull a Sega and give up early without one hell of a fight. Then again, who would have thought Sega would kill their best console before it could…[Read more]

LOL, yeah the article 18 million Xbox Ones article is referenced as well. I thought it was hilariously bad and can’t believe they haven’t yet deleted it.

By the way, the GameSpot reporting the same news twice from the same source (the 18 Million XBOs Shipped) is hilarious.
It reminds me of a time on the forums of GameFAQs where someone posted a confirmation of a rumor that had previously been posted on the forums.

Yeah, your comment was saved. It just didn’t show up because it seems any comment that contains a link automatically gets moderated just to protect us from spam. I’ll address that sometime in the future, still working on getting our form of ‘advertising’ up on the site.

I commented on it, but it seems the article is hidden for now. I hope my comment didn’t disappear. Luckily I saved it on my clipboard:
Five days ago, GameSpot published a juicy article titled The Division’s New Bug Makes the AI Work For You, which reported that the game infamous for bugs has yet another glitch for players to exploit. I can’t…

I wanted to gather some notable bits of information and my thoughts on them. Plus I wonder what you think about this as well.
1. NX is launching in March 2017, not holiday 2016. This one was jarring. Nearly everyone expected the NX to launch this year and new console launches outside of the holiday season are very rare. If PlayStation rumors are…[Read more]

One of the questions that I get asked the most often is how will gamelust make money, how will it support itself. A long time ago this site was known as XBLGamer.com, and while I was trying to build up the site using the same concepts that are the foundation of gamelust, we had a small miracle land in our laps. I don’t know how, but I managed to…[Read more]

I felt that the article was ready to go, though after a little bit more thought I don’t think it quite hits the points I want it to hit. I have put the article back into draft status until I can get the message across better.

It took a while, but this article has finally been written, my co-worker will be creating an image for the article for me tomorrow so it can be featured. You will find it in the news list on the left side of the page, or in the news section found in the top nav.

elheber replied to the topic What I Look for in a Great Game in the forum Shooting the Shit 9 years, 4 months ago
For me, though, it’s all about Game Feel. To me the controller is the most important thing because it’s the direct link between you and the game. I honestly think that if a game can nail game feel, it would still be enjoyable or engaging even if the rest of the game sucked.
Most games benefit from intuitive and responsive controls, allowing yo…[Read more]

Everyone has their favorite games. They can give you a million reasons why they love their certain games, but rarely do I hear about what people actually expect from their favorite games in general. With so many genres and play styles out there, it’s difficult to figure out what makes an individual game “great” in the midst of so many const…[Read more]

This update is complete. You can now click the up and down arrows or their values to upvote or downvote an article, the numbers will change instantly, though the icons on the right side will not. I will address that in a future update. I was considering emailing the author but will save that feature for later, planning on sending out daily emails…[Read more]

Need to figure out how to integrate some of the features into the top nav as well, make it obvious when you have a new message or comments and likes.

Yeah, I wanted to have 4 across on either side so I’ll probably reduce the size a little bit. I don’t want them to be super small like Gamespot has, and I do want them to stand out, just have to find the right balance.

I’ve laid the groundwork for the user voting system on articles & reviews, the pages now display the avatar of users who have voted(which should keep some of the negative nancies a bit more honest). I will do some more work on this tomorrow so that the voting buttons on the page will trigger the system. Voting is only available to register users.…[Read more]
