PUBG will be 60FPS on Xbox One X but might only be 30 FPS on Xbox One S...
Brendan Greene clarified his statements on Twitter today stating that Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds would actually be 30FPS on Xbox One X at launch.
“While I previously stated PUBG would run at higher FPS at XGP launch on 12/12, I want to clarify that PUBG will run at 30 FPS across all Xbox One devices. We’re constantly refining the game & exploring options to increase FPS, but this early in dev, we’re unable to confirm more.”

Brendan Greene, aka Player Unknown, made an appearance in the latest issue of gamesTM magazine(Issue #194) to talk about his wildly popular game Battlegrounds that is coming to Xbox One on December 12th, 2017. Brendan didn’t waste any time letting it be known that he is a fan of the Xbox and is excited to see his game on the console. “Xbox is synonymous with gaming, you know what I mean? And there’s a huge player base out there that prefer to play on console, so bringing it to the Xbox One systems is just great. It’s like I can finally say yup, I have a game on Xbox.”
The big news though is that Battlegrounds will run at 60 frames per second on the Xbox One X. Unfortunately that does not appear to be the case for the Xbox One S though Greene that 60 is still the goal. “Definitely on Xbox One X, 60FPS. On Xbox One, we’re not sure. We may have to limit it at 30FPS, maybe, but the last time I saw it, it was running at about 30 to 40. We’re still constantly improving it so, you know, the aim is to get to 60.”
Finally, Greene stated that while Xbox One S and X will both have HDR, and look “really pretty”, it doesn’t look like 4K textures will be ready any time soon. “We want to get those 4K textures in there, but we still have to make them. They don’t exist yet, you know our terrain artist he’s like ‘4K textures? Fuck’ cause it’s a lot of work. The amount of detail that has to go into 4K textures is immense, and it’s going to take us some time to get them, but we do have a plan.”
Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds will be available December 12th, 2017 and retail for an MSRP of $29.99($24.99 for Gamers Club Unlocked members at Best Buy).
