Ultimate Alliance Franchise no longer available
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 have been retracted from the Steam marketplace after two ephemeral years on the platform. Taking a trip to the game’s page will yield the bog standard information layout bar the buy game button. Over on the Xbox store, the same formation can be found while on the PlayStation Network both games have been erased entirely. Before the wipe happened, both Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 were on sale for a mere $15 before disappearing into the gaming abyss for all eternity.
At the time of writing no vindication why the franchise was withdrawn but we can assume it’s likely related to licensing issues, something Activision (the publishers) has had issues with in the past, resulting in games such as Deadpool, Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan being pulled from digital storefronts. The removal could also correlate with Square Enix’s upcoming Avengers game.
Those with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance in their library have nothing to fret over; if you were looking to pick up the game that ship just sailed and it’s almost unequivocally not coming back. Luckily, PC users have the option to purchase keys from other retailers but console gamers can seek alternative titles.
