Epic Exclusivity Expires
Gearbox’s 2019 looter shooter Borderlands 3 will be coming to Steam next month.
The announcement was made at PAX East where Gearbox held a conference dedicated to their games. It was during this time that they announced Borderlands 3 and all of its editions will be making their way to Steam on March 13th. The release will see the addition of Steam achievements and the ability for Epic Games Store players to play with those who are playing on Steam. The release on PC’s biggest distribution platform will be followed up 13 days later by the launch of the second DLC for Borderlands 3, which was also revealed at PAX.
Shunning Steam at launch in favour of taking money from Epic Games to have Borderlands 3 be an Epic Games Store exclusive for 6 months was a controversial move from 2K, and caused a wave of comments from many disgruntled fans. The dust has settled and now are happy that they can finally buy Borderlands 3 on their launcher of choice.
Pre-orders are not yet live, but the game is due out in just 13 days. In the meantime there is a Borderlands Franchise Sale on Steam if you’re looking to jump back into the series.
Borderlands 3 is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
