The Game Awards brought us many surprises during the three hour show, but none were as shocking as the announcement of Studio Wildcard’s Ark Survival Evolved 2.

For context, ARK is an open world survival game that hit PC in 2015 via early access. The game was famous for its impressive visuals and collection of dinosaurs that you could tame and ride.

The game came out of the oven in 2018 and released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and mobile to a positive reception (except for the Switch and mobile, where the game struggled to run well).

Now we’ve had our first look at the sequel which came out of nowhere and what’s more, it stars Fast and Furious veteran Vin Diesel in what seems to be a more narrative sequel.

That wasn’t all Wildcard had to show however, as they also unveiled an incredibly famous cast, including the likes of David Tennant (Doctor Who), Elliot Page (Umbrella Academy), Russel Crowe (Gladiator) as well as Vin Diesel.

Ark Survival Evolved 2 hasn’t been set a release date nor has it been announced by any platforms, but hopefully we’ll hear more soon.
