  • Joel Castro commented on the post, What I Look for in a Great Game 8 years, 11 months ago

I guess I see your point there. Though I do like the occasional distraction here and there whenever I'm playing. So, basically good open-style games are The Witcher 3, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls […]

I don't consider sidequests like those in The Witcher 3 to be filler. Each of those sidequests are about as fulfilling and intricate as any main quest. When I talk about “checkboxes on a map,” I mean like the […]

Well, filler can be good if it's full of quality within each little quest. A lot of games are bad at that, admittedly, but some are great, like Fallout 3, Skyrim, and more recently, The Witcher 3, which […]

They become unavailable until you resubscribe. After which, they're yours to play once again. They appear in your library, you just can't play them, so you still technically “own” them.

Man, I need to get Mankind Divided soon. Unfortunately, my finances are pitiful for the next few weeks. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it soon. Human Revolution is one of my all-time favorites, and from what I’ve seen, Mankind Divided fixes a lot of what was wrong with the previous entry.

Not yet, unfortunately. Hoping to balance my finances before I even think about buying another game. That, and I'm progressing further towards my Air Force goals. Gaming might not be on my radar too much […]

I believe you get them back when you resub. I'll check tonight since I let mine lapse for a few months each of the past 2 years. Is your GT the same on PS4 as here?

  • elheber commented on the post, Sony Quietly Increases Price of Playstation Plus in US and Canada. 8 years, 11 months ago

I've been considering dropping PSN+ for a while now. The last time I played online with my PS4 was when I got into Rocket League. I've also used it to watch Powers plus I've been adding the free […]

I think I agree with this, take me on a journey, but make sure I can reach the destination. If I really get into the game I'll check off those extra boxes, but the main story should be beatable w/in a reasonable time.

I’m 7 hours into Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, but I haven’t even beaten the 2nd main story quest yet. I’m just running around, discovering sidequests, breaking into places I don’t belong, finding more sidequests, playing detective with names and passcodes I find, and finally beating sidequests (but not before finding more sidequests).

    For the most…[Read more]

The first Titanfall wasn’t given much of a chance when it originally launched in 2014; its lack of a singleplayer campaign and console exclusivity on the then-unpopular Xbox One overshadowed the brilliant […]

    Have you played Undertale yet?

  • elheber commented on the post, What I Look for in a Great Game 8 years, 11 months ago

I remember this topic fondly. Something I recently discovered in the time since is that something I look for in games nowadays is for them to be concentrated. It's a time thing… I don't want to grind, […]

Everyone has their favorite games. They can give you a million reasons why they love their games, but rarely do I hear about what people actually expect from games in general. With so many genres and play styles […]

It’s thoughts I’ve been having related to my beliefs and video games. Eventually, I’ll be talking about something more…unsettling I’ve noticed in the medium in relation to those of faith.

  • Joel Castro wrote a new post 8 years, 11 months ago

One thing I’ve always noticed about video games – most particularly in the Fantasy genre – is that they often use a plethora of religious imagery and mythology within their worlds. It’s not unexpected. Religio […]

Oh man, I still look forward to playing Dark Souls 3. I had totally forgotten about that one! I also haven’t put my money down on Doom.

For me, so far I’ve loved Overwatch, Superhot, Uncharted 4 and Darkest Dungeon (although I technically started the game  in Early Access in 2015).

Now that the year’s now about halfway through, how are everybody’s favorites lists rounding out? Granted, I’ve personally yet to play every single game that has come out, but I have played a decent number of them. Here are my picks for the top games, in order from most to least favorite.

Ehh, I'm not too upset. In the grand scheme of things, it's just 10 extra bucks a year for an overall fantastic service.

Yeah, a lot of these articles are built on a single tweet. It’s amazing how much bad information is spread because sites like polygon and gamespot write 1200 character articles based on 140 character tweets. I’m trying to figure out a good way to have mini-articles on the site. A way to get the news out when the source doesn’t really provide…[Read more]
