The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here. The last grouping of Sega Genesis game for the mini has been announced. There is some good news here, but honestly, there’s also bad. The best news of all is 12 games were released today instead of 10, bringing the total number of games up to 42.

Starting with the good, games like Kid Chameleon, Tetris and Virtua Fighter 2 will all be playable again. I have no recollection of Tetris being on the Genesis at all, but that is not surprising at all. Upon looking it up, it seems that Tetris cartridges are ridiculously rare. Like 10 in the world rare. So though that is an odd choice to include it, it’s also incredible. 

Sadly, it is not all sunshine and roses. Personally, I was hoping Aladdin and Ristar would make their way to this console, but alas, it was not to be. There are two other games that also didn’t make the cut, that actually annoy me. Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles, will somehow not be included. I have no idea why, it makes no sense to me but there you have it. Clearly, they didn’t ask for my opinion.

If you are thinking that is only 11 games, then you have a keen eye. For some reason, Road Rash 2 was announced by the Sega Twitter account but does not appear on the Genesis Mini website. Color me confused.
