2013’s cult classic The Stanley Parable is getting a console release under a new name: The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe.

Get ready to relive the life of Stanley; an office drone who one day finds everyone is missing, bar a sarcastic narrator who guides you through the weird and wonderful world. The game released in 2013 to critical acclaim being praised by journalists and players alike for its general absurdity and approach at storytelling.

Now, console owners will get a chance to delve into the game with all new content being added, roughly 50% more of what the original game had, including new endings. On the game’s website, the developers poked fun at apology letters often put out by devs, claiming that people were dissatisfied with The Stanley Parable:

“We told them it didn’t need more content, that it was fine just the way it was, that it already had the perfect number of endings.

What a sorry sack of lies that was.

We knew it. We knew it were lying and we did it anyway. We’ve carried that shame around with us for years, a burden weighing on every moment of every day.

Enough is enough.

It’s time to fix this, to unburden our shame. Let us give you our shame, for you to carry it around instead. We’re sick of it.”

The reboot is being fronted by original game devs Davey Wreden and William Pugh, with help from Pugh’s studio – Crows Crows Crows who you may remember worked on Squanch Game’s VR acid trip Accounting.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is out in 2019 on PC and unannounced consoles.
