On Friday, ESRB unveiled their rating for No Man’s Sky on the Xbox One. The game holds a teen classification and was complete with a compact summary of the game but interestingly enough it was different from the description for the PC and PS4 version.

The first noticeable change was the option of playing from a “first- or third-person perspective” contrast to the first person perspective offered up in the current version. This could be referencing to vehicles introduced in the Pathfinder update as the summary is based on the newer version of the game. Nonetheless, if third person is now an option and players can see themselves it might be pave way for customisation of your character.

The second and final change is who you’re up against. The site states “players can use a variety of gun-like weapons and melee attacks to defeat alien creatures, human-like figures, and robots”. Human-like figures is an ambiguous description which could either confirm PVP is making an appearance or NPCs can now be interacted with in a hostile way. Hopefully Hello Games has measures to prevent a grievers paradise.

NEXT is a free update coming to No Man’s Sky on 25th July labelled the “largest update so far” by the devs themselves and will bring the infinite sci-fi fest to Xbox One and Tecent’s Wegame platform. Hello Games are being tight-lipped about what’s inside the update but after an interview on Inside Xbox studio founder Sean Murray confirmed fully-fledged multiplayer will be making its debut in NEXT.

No Man’s Sky had a troublesome launch that affected the reputation of the company and gamers quickly branded Murray as a liar and accused him of a fraudster, some comparing him to Peter Molyneux. Since launch No Man’s Sky has received a series of three major updates each adding features promised pre-launch. Players have been following an ARG created by alternate reality game masters Alice and Smith. The game (known as Waking Titan) takes players across a story where they are given tasks by various fictional companies all the while uncovering the deep lore of No Man’s Sky.

No Man’s Sky is out now on PC and PS4 and is slated for a July 25th release date on Xbox One and Wegame.
