Daybreak Games has announced that Just Survive is being removed from the H1z1 universe and will have it’s own narrative. A major update was issued yesterday that brings new content to the game. This would include a brand new map called Badwater Canyon, a new Stronghold system, a new narrative that separates Just Survive from the H1Z1 universe and more.

Badwater Canyon and will replace the games original map and is “designed with multiple styles of gameplay in mind.” Players will find “hundreds of easily identifiable base pads for Stronghold construction”, exploration opportunities and strategic verticality in Badwater Canyon.

Strongholds are a new system “where players can build robust structures and fortify them with an array of defenses and traps to fend off coordinated attacks.” These offer challenges to attack or defend bases in addition to being customizable so players can make their in-game home unique.

In addition to the new map and Strongholds, Daybreak has revamped all of the games weapons, improved melee and added a new in-game currency called Golden Eagle Coins. These are intended to create “true value for each item in the world” and will be required to purchase new Stronghold locations.
