ACO: They did it right!

Ubisoft’s Youssef Maguid wrote a piece that was extremely heartfelt. Maguid is an Egyptian born and raised in the United States. He details that he has always felt like the outsider and was seen as the token Egyptian kid. Many movies, games, and news articles would portray Egypt as the bad guy whenever it was mentioned. They were always whitewashed or had some foreign hero hailed in their own land. Assassin’s Creed Origins does an amazing job by showing as close as possible how Egypt was and is. Maguid recalls crying during the opening scene of the game when Bayek and Hepzefa briefly embrace over their victory.

It was the first time he had seen not just one but two Egyptians triumph as heroes in their own right to protect their land. He goes on to detail everything the game does right, and I believe this is a great accomplishment for Ubisoft. They give Egypt the credit they definitely deserve, a breath of fresh air, that many video game companies fail to do. Good stuff here everyone!
