Get ready to sell your body on the street for the latest new releases coming in the month of August.

Year after year the Holiday buying season continues to expand. In order to avoid being the latest big budget game smothered to obscurity by Call of Duty and Battlefront AAA titles are releasing much earlier than in the past. That makes August a special time of year for gaming now more so than ever. In the past few years August has almost always brought an end to the summer video game drought. This August is no different. There are several big games and expansions releasing in August digitally and at retail. Here is a list of all the video game titles coming out in the next month on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.

Overall we have found 69 games currently scheduled to launch during the month of August. The month will feature new entries from several big IPs such as Uncharted, Madden, and Mario. If you’ve still got money to blow after that, you’ll be happy to hear there are several hidden gems coming out in August. Arguably the biggest game this month will be the psuedo expansion to the Uncharted franchise and the first game to explore a world without Nathan Drake(pun intended). Uncharted: Lost Legacy will be due out on August 22nd and has an MSRP of only $39.99. Of course, sports fans would argue that Madden 18, due out on August 25th, may be the bigger game.

August starts out with a bunch of downloadable titles such as Patapon Remastered(PS4) and The Long Dark: Wintermute(PS4, X1, PC). A mere 24 hours later you’ll be able to get your hands on one of the Xbox’s big indie titles. Tacoma(X1, PC), a sci-fi walking simulator from the developers behind the critically acclaimed Gone Home.

The spiritual sequel to Heavenly Sword that’s not a spiritual sequel to Heavenly Sword will be out a week later. That would be Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice(PS4, PC), which Ninja Theory swears is not related to Heavenly Sword in any way. Can you tell we really want a Heavenly Sword sequel? Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will be out on August 8th. Some other games releasing alongside Hellblade on the 8th include Cliffy B’s LawBreakers(PS4, PC), Mega Man Legacy Collection 2(PS4, X1, PC) and Sine Mora EX(PS4, X1).

Another major franchise is launching on August 15th. Pulled straight out of the Saints Row universe, Agents of Mayhem is a single player co-operative(wait, does that make sense?) that will feature crazy stunts, weapons, and a guest appearance by fan favorite Johnny Gat. Also due out on the 15th is Sonic Mania, an all-new 2D Sonic adventure running at 60FPS with stunning HD retro-style graphics.

Perhaps the most intriguing game coming out on the 15th is Observer, a cyberpunk horror game from the team behind Layers of Fear. Featuring Rutger Hauer as the main protagonist, you play as a member of a special elite police unit that can hack into minds and interact with other peoples memories while investigating the disappearance of your son. Considering many of the people you will interact with are criminals and no one wants you inside their head things are bound to get hectic.

Closing out the month on August 29th will be a splash of games sure to make your wallet cry. Sega will be releasing Yakuza: Kiwami, a remake of the original Yakuza from the PS2. Capcom will also be re-releasing an upgraded version of Resident Evil Revelations(PS4, X1). The biggest release of the day has to be Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, the crazy looking tactical RPG created by Ubisoft for the Nintendo Switch.

There are a few hidden gems releasing on this day as well. Absolver, Everybody’s Golf, Hello Neighbor, Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition and X Com 2: War of the Chosen will all come out on August 29th. And with only one day left in the month Square Enix will be bringing us the 1st episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm(PS4, X1, PC).

So there you have it, 22 games that will help your wallet with it’s diet. Let’s be real, no gamer has a fat wallet from August-December, there are way too many good games to not be broke. If August is any indication of how expensive the rest of this year will be, we’re in for some rough nights selling our bodies on the street.
