Black Friday 2019: The Best Deals on Games

It’s time for that age-long tradition of filling your bellies on Thanksgiving and immediately emptying your wallets as soon as the last drop of gravy is gone. Every year, retailers offer big discounts on a vast array of products to get you to rush to their store (or their website). This year is no exception, and while Black Friday isn’t quite here yet a good majority of the major retailers have been teasing customers with what to expect when the gates open on the 28th of November.

Of course, it can be hard to track these deals, which is why We’ve compiled a spreadsheet to help you find the best deals on video games this Black Friday. In this article, we’ll highlight some of the best deals we’ve found so far. Didn’t find a game you’re interested in? Don’t worry, we’ll be updating the spreadsheet as soon as more deals are revealed.

Target

Target was the first major retailer in the United States to reveal its Black Friday ad this year. While they are not the best deals on some of the games, their prices fall pretty much in line with Best Buy and Walmart most of the time. Target has quite a few good deals on games for your Nintendo Switch, while also having the best deal on games like Control, and the hidden gem World War Z.

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled

  • Release Date: June 20th, 2019 Genre: Arcade Racing Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

Crash Team Racing has been reimagined for the current-gen and it looks great. Target is offering the title for just $15 on Switch, nearly $10 less than the other retailers. While the ad does not show the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game, it is likely those versions will be the same price.

The game is on offer for Xbox One and PS4.

Mario Tennis Aces

Best Buy

Overall, Best Buy has the most bang for your buck with a lot of games either cheapest, or within $1 of the cheapest price available. Out of all the retailers on this list, the best deals on some of the biggest games of 2019 are at Best Buy. Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville

  • Release Date: October 18th, 2019 Genre: Third-Person Shooter Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One

If you love killing waves and waves of all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures, you’ll love playing Diablo III on the Switch. What’s more, all the DLC is included.

Game Stop

Being the only retailer on this list that specializes in video games and nerd culture we expected better deals from Game Stop. While they do have a good deal here and there, the only big game they were able to beat the other retailers on price was the latest Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare. But, like with most of the rest of their deals, that was only tied for best price with another retailer, Walmart. The biggest draw for Game Stop is that many titles, especially on Nintendo Switch, will be on sale the entire week leading up to Black Friday.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
