Looks like a bit of information from Microsoft’s gamescom press event has leaked early. Images are starting to show up on Twitter of a special day one Xbox One X called the Project Scorpio Edition.
Microsoft may not have kept the Project Scorpio name for the final console, but it’s spirit will live on with the day one Xbox One X consoles. Though the console design hasn’t changed by much, it appears MS will have the codename printed on the front of the console and on the controller at launch. Microsoft did something similar with the original launch of the Xbox One so this isn’t really a surprise.
We’ll know more after the gamescom event on Sunday.
