Hello! It’s Friday! Welcome to the charts! This week, we’ve got some new entries, some returning faces and in a surprising twist, a new number one! I’m Alex Quayle, and you’re reading the UK Video Game Charts.
10. FIFA 18
Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Position Last Week: 29th
Well well well, look who decided to show up! It’s been a month since FIFA 18 was last featured in the top 10 and by the looks of it, the soccer simulator managed to keep below the 30 line. Just wait until FIFA 19 dribbles into the number one position; then we’ll see FIFA 18 get the red card for good.
9. The Crew 2
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Position Last Week: 15th
Another long lost friend, the Crew 2 re-enters the charts. Probably because of the upcoming vehicle drop which brings two pretty Italian automotive into the (virtual) United States of America.
8. Call of Duty: WWII
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Position Last Week: 7th
I never know what to say about Call of Duty. It’s a franchise I haven’t actively touched since Black Ops 2 after many warned me that it went ‘downhill’. I took their word for it and a part of me doesn’t regret that decision. Sure, it would have been fun to get some sick trip flicks kicks. Either way, Call of Duty: WW2 stays in the top 10 at number 8.
7. LEGO The Incredibles
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
Position Last Week: 5th
Lego.
6. God of War
Platform: PS4
Position Last Week: No Change
Disappointed dad simulator sits at number 6.
5. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Platforms: Wii U, Nintendo Switch
Position Last Week: 4th
10 years from now, whoever is writing the video game charts will have the task of writing a witty blurb about how Mario Kart X managed to secure a place at number 5.
4. Grand Theft Auto V
Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One
Position Last Week: 2nd
Same description above applies for GTA 5 Remastered.
3. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
Position Last Week: No Change
Crash Bandicoot is a 3d platforming pioneer. It captured millions in its detailed world filled with all sorts of colorful characters. Crash also has nice shoes. I like shoes.
2. Shenmue I & II
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Position Last Week: N/A
With a date set for Shenmue III, we can enjoy the remaster of the cult classic franchise in the meantime. Shenmue I and II (which are bundled together for an insanely cheap $29.99) sits at number 2 for its debut into the charts.
1. F1 2018
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Android, iOS
Position Last Week: N/A
The official Formula One video game F1 2018 has always had a following but who knew it would reach number one in the UK? For its debut, F1 2018 claims pole position.
