What a week! Gamescom began this week with a bang, bringing in a plethora of new trailers for all the upcoming titles. Gamescom is also a champion of indies, giving smaller studios a chance to flaunt their project to a large audience. Due to this video game seismic activity has struck the Video Game Charts, shaking the charts and propelling Nintendo to secure a number of places.
10. Madden NFL 19
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Position Last Week: 5th
Madden is on the verge of exiting the charts due to a Nintendo takeover but I’m sure we’ll be seeing the American Football simulator again soon.
9. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Platforms: Wii U, Nintendo Switch
Position Last Week: 9th
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild last graced the Video Game Charts since March. I’m not quite sure why the latest title in Nintendo’s long-running Zelda franchise suddenly decided to enter the top 10 at a respectable 9th place but I’ll take it.
8. Super Mario Odyssey
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Position Last Week: 9th
Mario’s quest to halt Bowser’s forced marriage to Princess Peach is one of the Switch’s defining titles hence why it continuously tops the charts after more than a year since its release.
7. Call of Duty: WWII
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Position Last Week: 6th
Just in time for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, WW2 manages to scoop four consecutive weeks on the chart but is slowly inching to a disappearance into the top 40.
6. God of War
Platform: PS4
Position Last Week: 7th
Disappointed dad simulator manages to endure the Nintendo takeover, sitting at a cozy sixth place.
5. LEGO The Incredibles
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
Position Last Week: 2nd
LEGO Incredibles continues to be a success, just like its movie counterpart.
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Platforms: Wii U, Nintendo Switch
Position Last Week: No Change
Mario Kart 8 manages to secure fourth place for another week.
3. World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth
Platform: PC
Position Last Week: N/A
2. Grand Theft Auto V
Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One
Position Last Week: 3rd
Despite not showing anything at this year’s Gamescom, GTA V infiltrates 2nd place.
1. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
Platform: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
Position Last Week: No Change
Crash Bandicoot stays strong for 8 weeks at number 1.
