The Last of Us: Part II Delayed Until May

It’s official. The Last of Us: Part II has been delayed until May 29th, 2020. According to Game Director Neil Druckmann the team “simply didn’t have enough time to bring the entire game up to a level of polish we would call Naughty Dog quality.” While this news may be disappointing to many, the good news is that “this new release date allows us to finish everything to our level of satisfaction while also reducing stress on the team.”  It sounds like less crunch to us, which is a good move for an industry known for heavy crunch.

As with any delay, we feel the words of the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto will always hold true. “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.” A few more months of development will be a small price to pay for what is shaping up to be an excellent follow up to The Last of Us.
