Square Enix has announced that they will make an announcement in 2018. In what has literally been the worst kept secret in the industry recently, Square has confirmed that a new game in the Tomb Raider series, most likely titled Shadow of the Tomb Raider, is coming and will be shown off “with a major event in 2018.” The possible title leaked earlier in the year after an employee was photographed while working on a presentation for the game on a public train.
Whether Square is planning a Tomb Raider specific event or has plans to show off the new game at E3 is not known at this time. Square Enix has promised that it “won’t be very long between the official reveal and when you can play [the game]”. We’ll keep you informed as news becomes available.
