Shadow of the Tomb Raider: What We Know So Far

On April 27th, Tomb Raider fans will be thrilled to know that the will be an official reveal of Shadow of the Tomb Raider.  That is one week from today.  One week and we will have more information.  Just take a moment for that to sink in and then continue on with your day.  So now seems to be a good time to talk about all we know about the game so far. Which sadly is not much but hopefully next week there will be a lot to discuss.

The most concrete thing we know so far are dates. Not only do we know more information is coming on the 27th but we also know the game will be coming out on September 14th. Which probably means there will be more coming to us at E3 as well. What is even more interesting is that Shadow of the Tomb Raider will not be released exclusively on Xbox for any period of time. It will instead be released on Xbox One,PlayStation 4 and PC all on the same day.

There are also a few things we know based on the teaser trailers. Obviously part of the story is going to revolve around an eclipse. Everything we have seen so far, including the way the title is written, has shown what seems to be a lunar eclipse. We also know that the primary setting is going to be a jungle. Not just a forest but a proper jungle. Not only do the flora in the trailers tell us this but also the presumably bad man with a gun. He has mosquito netting over his head so that means hot, humid and ugh.

Many people (including myself) have made more educated guesses about where the game will specifically take place. However none of that has been confirmed and my knowledge of ancient ruins is not proficient enough to be sure. All I can say with 99.9% certainty is there will be an eclipse in a jungle. Not a whole lot to go on. Hopefully more will be confirmed on the 27th and you can bet I’ll be talking about it then too.
