Hands down The Ship is one of the greatest murder-mystery games out there; whacking your target over the head with a prosthetic arm is one of the greatest feelings ever as you watch his/her’s lifeless body collapse to the ground while their wallet/purse lands meters ahead of their head.
You can also play in a world leaders mode which is pretty snazzy too.
The lowdown is Blazing Griffin, creators of The Ship and The Ship Remastered are diving back in the Clue-style genre with Murderous Pursuits, a Victorian-esque spiritual successor to The Ship. Mr. X returns but this time takes us back to the 1890’s where Britianna ruled the waves.
Murderous Pursuits takes place over one gigantic ship with four sections each boasting their own ways to take out your quarry. The game gives you the choice of eight unique characters each with their own culture yet affiliating to Britain in some way. One such example is the Indian man and as we know from all them ‘interesting’ History classes, India was a major colony in the British empire.
A new feature to the franchise is the option to choose from a set of abilities. There are five to choose from in total with the option to only take two into a match.
The feature that makes me jump for joy is the new combat system which works in a similar way to the one seen in Assassin’s Creed. It’s slaughter at its finest and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Murderous Pursuits launches on Steam 26th April this year.
