Minecraft 1.14.4 Java Patch Available Now

Patch 1.14.4 for the Java edition of Minecraft is out now.

The update, which focuses on eliminating bugs and improving performance, is free to all owners of the java edition. The patch was revealed in a blog post yesterday, stating this will be “the final release for 1.14”. A full list of changes is available below:

Bugs were also squashed:

The 1.14 Village and Pillage update was released in April and was dubbed Minecraft’s biggest update yet. It revamped village buildings and breathed new life into villages, as well as adding raiders who attempt to attack villages, giving you a reason to keep them alive.

1.14 also added a whole host of new blocks (several new furnaces!) and even a new mob: the fox. You can read my mini review in this article.

Mojang confirmed in a tweet that this will be the last major update of the year, with the next possibly being revealed at Minecon 2019 in September. Fans have begun speculating what the update (supposedly called 1.15) will be, with only a cave update being ruled out so far.

Also on the way is Minecraft: Dungeons – a Diablo-esque dungeon crawler set in the Minecraft universe. A trailer at E3 showed us some gameplay, and confirmed the game will be making its way to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in Spring 2020.

Minecraft Java edition is out now on PC.
