Microsoft added a handful of games to the Xbox Backward Compatibility Program this week. Announced via Major Nelson’s Twitter feed, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII, Cyber Troopers Virtual On Oratorio Tangram, Radiant Silvergun and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 are now playable on Xbox One.
While many will be excited to play Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood again there’s a rather big hidden gem included here. Originally released on the Sega Saturn in 1998, Radiant Silvergun is a vertical scrolling shoot’em up from the fabled team at Treasure. Radiant Silvergun is highly regarded as one of the best games from the old Sega platform and sits near the top of most best schmup lists. If you haven’t played it before now would be a good time to treat yourself to one of the all-time classics.
