Could Kojima Be Hinting At His First Game Post Konami?

Although Konami still owns the Silent Hill IP, Kojima clearly still has a desire to pursue the PT project.

Earlier today, reports started showing up across the internet highlighting the fact that Mark Cerny, the Playstation 4 architect, and Hideo Kojima were planning to spend 10 days together looking for new technology. But while gaming sites across the internet were focusing on Mark Cernys first ever tweet, and the 11 people he is following on twitter, another tweet from Kojima went largely unnoticed.

The tweet states… “Woke up middle of night and couldn’t get back to sleep.”, along with the picture featured on the right side(bottom on mobile) of this article. While it is pure speculation, I have to wonder if this tweet has more behind it. No game announced this generation has had more positive reception from the fans than the canceled Silent Hills project championed by Hideo and his good friend Guillermo Del Toro, so it would make sense for Kojima to explore the possibility of reuniting with Del Toro to finish their original vision under a different banner. I would also point out that Del Toro is one of the 11 people being followed by Mark Cerny. Coincidence?

Obviously this is not an announcement of any kind, and could simply be Kojima teasing his fans. But I can’t help wondering whether the post was meant to reach out to Del Toro, or was Kojima not being able to contain his excitement for his first title as an independent developer. What do you think? Is Kojima dropping a hint to his fans? Let us know in the comments below.

*Update: January 21st, 2016. Kojima has once again posted a similar image featuring a few new items, but still containing the Del Toro sketchbook and his iPhone case with the Kojima Productions logo.
