Battlerite Royale Dated for September Release

Battlerite Royale – initially slated for a July release – has been given a definite release date of late September. The delay comes after the battle royale (aptly named Battlerite Royale) mode changed from a game mode to a fully fledged game. In a blog post, the Stunlock Team explained exactly why the switch was made:

“As we continued to develop Battlerite Royale we saw more and more potential in it with every passing day, but we also noticed the difficulties with keeping Royale in the same frame as a “Team Arena Brawler.” With the constraints from Arena limiting us and after seeing the huge reaction from Battlerite Royale’s announcement, we made the decision to protect the integrity of both experiences and create a new game instead of a new game mode.”

According to the post, everything was re-worked including the ability kits, stats, gameplay systems, UI, matchmaking and more; despite these changes, Stunlock stresses the Battlerite style is unchanged – something fans will appreciate. Another feature fans will enjoy is the chance to carry over cosmetic items from the arena version. What’s more, players who purchased any of the packs will have a chance to ‘earn more rewards’ presumably depending on which pack they bought. A change no-one will like is the fact that Battlerite Royale will cost for Battlerite players and newcomers alike.

Battlerite Royale is out this September.
