A New Sonic Racing Game is in the Works

The official Sonic Twitter account released a video today that suggests that a new racing game based on the Sonic franchise is on its way:

The reveal seems to showcase a car with the colored logo from Sonic R, a racing game for the Sega Saturn. No further details have been given since the release of the video although we can speculate that it could either be a remaster or entirely new title altogether.

While other racing games in the franchise have been centered around cartoony karts this new project looks to be taking Sonic into a more serious racing league.
