PlayStation Editor

The PlayStation Editor oversees the creation and coordination of PlayStation-ecosystem coverage for IGN. This position works directly with the games and social media teams to produce high-quality written and video content that benefits our readers and our staff.

What does that mean exactly?

Initiate the conception, workflow, and schedule for written and video content centered on the PlayStation beat.
Collaborate with senior content managers and feature creators to drive PlayStation product coverage on IGN, including previews, reviews, features, op-eds, and news.
Participate in IGN’s PlayStation podcast, Beyond.
You’ll also be covering games on other platforms, too!
What will get you in the door?

You are familiar with and passionate about the brands, companies, communities, and personalities of the games industry – particularly PlayStation.
You understand the wide range of internet offerings – video, lists, articles, social stories, etc. – and how to produce and promote them to best effect.
You thrive in a fast-paced, creative, ideation-heavy environment.
You are a creative writer and can tell stories that help other people understand and support your point of view.
You have experience developing and programming original content for a dedicated audience of pop culture fans.
You are focused on creative solutions and direct collaboration with multiple teams.
You are proactive, organized and detail-oriented. You can devise and maintain documents and tools to clearly and concisely share information between teams.
You work well with a team of equally passionate video game and pop culture enthusiasts.
College degree or equivalent experience.
It would be extra awesome if…

You have previous experience covering the PlayStation ecosystem.
You have experience with video production or video creation workflows.
You have experience assigning freelance work and managing an Editorial budget.
You have college degree or equivalent experience.
You are already part of the IGN community.
