Set during the grim period of the Dark Ages, A Plague Tale: Innocence follows the story of two siblings who are traveling in a rat-infested country to escape the Inquisition. Amicia, the older sister, must care for her sick younger brother, Hugo, on their journey. But the siblings hardly know each other because Hugo spent most of this childhood isolated in a state of quarantine. After fleeing from their home, they must evade the Inquisition’s soldiers as well as the swarms of plague rats that have overrun the land. Amicia and Hugo must learn to trust one another if they hope to survive.
